Rev. Nicole Wachter

Pastor Nicole Wachter grew up Jefferson, MD and was an active member of the Lutheran church that baptized her, raised her up, and nurtured her faith.  She served in her home congregation as the youth and family minister, as well as the office administrator for many years. 

Pastor Nicole attended Hood College in Frederick, MD and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 2006.  She went on to attend Loyola College in Columbia, MD and received a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Counseling in 2009.  It was during her time at Loyola that she felt the call to ministry and began taking classes at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg (now United Lutheran Seminary!)  In her time at seminary, she spent a year of training at Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster, MD and completed her internship year in Woodbridge, VA.  She graduated from seminary with a Master’s of Divinity in May 2012 and was ordained in December of 2012 in the Lower Susquehanna Synod.  She served her first congregation in central Pennsylvania for 10 years before moving back to the Delaware-Maryland Synod and here to St. Luke’s in New Windsor, MD. 

Pastor Nicole has two of the best parents out there and a loving, supportive family network.  She is the oldest of 3 and has two brothers, both of whom are married and with two children.  She does a fair amount of spoiling when it comes to her young nieces and nephews and they are her greatest sources of joy!  She is excited to return home and thrilled to be serving alongside the good folks of St. Luke’s.
